Virginie made the history of Paris come alive as explored the city. We gazed at Notre Dame, stood in awe under the stained glass in Sainte Chapelle, and filled our brains with centuries of history. Even though we had been to Paris on a tour before, we didn't really feel like we were doing the same things. Every guide brings something different to their tours, and Virginie was excellent at explaining all things French.

Our Free Afternoon
After a morning filled with history, we needed to fill our stomachs! We often have trouble making decisions on an empty stomach. So an easy solution was to visit a creperie where we had eaten at on our first visit to Paris in 2010. It still served delicious crepes and we now had a new tradition! Our next adventure was visiting the Orsay Museum. We gazed at Degas, Monet, and Van Gogh. Mom was feeling like she was getting a cold. So one of the best parts of having our own schedule, is deciding when it's time to relax. We made our way back to the hotel and enjoyed a quiet evening with a grocery store picnic.
In just a few days we would get to see this in person!

Dear Friends:
"Today didn't necessarily go the way I would have planned since my mom wasn't feeling great, but hey I was in Paris and I still got to see amazing stained glass in Sainte Chapelle, Notre Dame Cathedral, and works of art at the Orsay museum. One more day in Paris before exploring the French countryside!"
